Hi I just bought a couple of used wide fronts that we are going to put under a M and a 300. I am wondering if any one can help me with the specs as to what the spindle size should be for a M and 300 with the cast wheels (inner and outer bearing size and spaceing between bearings). I have 2 different size spindles on the wide fronts and am hopeing one will be right. I am thinking about just buying spindles shafts that would fit the cast wheels and then cutting the wide front spindle and welding in the new one but would like to know what to buy before I pull the wheels apart

Paul: Before you cut anything, talk with a good bearing shop. Most of them can match spindles and wheels with bearings. I think you will find there was no such thing as an 300, M, H, or 560 spindle. Some IH tractors were ordered with heavy spindles and some not, depending on front mounted equipment to be used.

the 300 takes the same size hub as the H (I think) which is smaller than the M. The aftermarket wide fronts that I have3 seen were made to use the original hubs to save the farmer money (things were different in the old days) So check it out before you start cutting. Your hubs may fit right on.

I'm with the NEBullguy, measure the spindles. I bought a IHC old style (tierods out front)WFE for an M. The seller was very knowledgeable he pointed out that the spindles on the IHC old style were H size not M. He had spent the better part of a day trying to make M wheels fit the WFE. My nickel
