Hi guys. My Super A has problems starting on wet days, the distributor gets damp. Put a heat lamp near it for a half hour and it will fire right up. It wouldn't be such a pain, but in my area it rains damn near half the year! Any ideas ? Thanks.

JD: Like Rick said, you probably have a small crack. Another problem I had was a bit of corosion around edge of distributor, which didn't allow cap to fit tightly. I cleaned that up with knife and wire brush.

I have also started spraying ignition spray over cap and wires when dried off good. Older wires can also be a bit of a problem. If you get new wires made up make sure they are the old wire center as opposed to the carbon center wires used on modern automobiles.

Finally, where abouts in Canada. Send an e-mail on that one.

JD, I have that problem now and then here in upstate NY- when it was real bad, I replaced the distributor cap- found it was cracked. All was well until some real rainy and foggy weather stayed on for a while- had the problem only once in a while then. So, check or replace the cap first- if happens again, may just have to deal with it.
