I have a 706 that has had the engine replaced with one out of a 915 combine according to the guy I bought it from. Several cyliders appear to not be firing. The way the plug wires are arranged now is not the way the 706 book shows. Would the 915 have a defferent firing order for the same engine? If so does anyone know what that firing order should be?

I know it has been a few years (18 now) since I worked as a mechanic in a repair shop. But generally speaking, most all 6 cylinder engines have a firing order of 1,5,3,6,2,4. I would find the # 1 on the distributor cap and go with it from there. Hope this helps you out with your problem.

later days mate,
Jim in NM again

Some things ya just never forget do you? :>)

Kinda cool when you can just rattle that off from memory like that.

The old girl sounds so much better firing on 6 instead of only 3 cylinders. Once I figured out which post on the dist #1 was supposed to be in I had it made. Thanks for the help.
