Hi guys:

I may have a man that wants to make a partial trade with me on my JD 4020. He has a 1971 Farmall 656 gas. It has a torque, wide front end, 15-38 rear tires (different brands). He says that it has 6100 hours on it and has had an in-frame overhaul ~5 years ago, but still burns a little oil. It also has a few leaks but the sheet metal is good, just needs some paint. What would this unit be worth in the condition it's in?

Thanks,

John

I bought a 656D, wide front, 3pth, new rubber, and good tin for $5000.00 this spring. I am in central pa. Around here these size tractors are still in high demand.

Any tractor that I have seen in the condition you describe would sell 4500 to 6000. If the tires and paint are in good condition as much as 1000 more. Overall condition is the key. I am talking about central Ohio.

What Al said about prices would go for Iowa as well. Having said that I watched (dumbly) a 656 nfe, overall good shape go for $ 2250 at auction. Dick Davis
