I'll try this again. I have more info and pics.

I have an oil pan that was never installed. There is an International Harvester tag attached from the 60s (I think) identifying it as "our no. 8229". Oil pan outside flange dimensions are 30 1/2" x 11". Anyone know what tractor it fits? I guess it could even be a truck part. If I can't find out it's about to become scrap.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

It's not off a 304/345/392. Too long. Just went & measured a 345 I have.

Bindernut: How much too long was it for the 345? My thinking was it would be too short for 6 cylinder that would require a pan 11" wide. This being my reasoning for either big block gas V8, V8 diesel or one of the gas start 4 cylinder diesels.

I really don't know, but that baffle makes me think maybe an automotive type application, like a truck.

I would list it on ebay just like you did here. Put it in Tractors and parts, IH Farmall. also list in truck parts. start it at $1 and see if you don't get some bids.

Joel: Definately not off a Cub, A or C. Width suggests to me its probably off larger diesels. I doubt if the pan on any of the gas truck engines were that wide. My guess is large gas start 4 cylinder diesel or V8 diesel. Maybe 400 plus cubic inch gas truck engines.

You will be sure to correctly identify it just as soon as you pitch it. Within 24hrs, my luck.
