The F-20 I got has on the front good spokes but the rims are bad. The guy I got it from said I could get new rims to put on there. He also said there are people to do it professionally. I was looking at them and they look like the rims have holes in them and then rivets going thru the rims and into the spokes. Is that right? Can you get predrilled rims to put on there? With new rivets? How do you remove the old rivets? Drill them out? Heat? What do the rims and rivets cost? Where do you get the rims from? What does it cost to get someone to do it for you? If I can I would rather do it myself. Rather put more labor than money into this old machine. I'm sure before it is over with I'll have plenty of both in it.
Thanks for any help you can give,
Carl

Most welding shops charge in relation to the amount of time spent on a job, thus the longer it takes the more it may cost. Each shop likes to set their own hourly rate and charge accordingly. I would suggest cutting away all of the old rim and then ordering a blank 16 inch rim and then trim the length of all spokes to the same length and welding into place while keeping the spokes centered on the rim. I was an owner of a welding shop for 14 years and did several such jobs.

MO, there are a set of F20 front wheels on eBay. They may not be spoke wheels, as the tractor had factory rubber. You may want to try to find a parts tractor that someone is willing to sell the front wheels. Try some of the salvage yards, JP and Easy Bob's would be good places to start.

The old spokes were hot rivited in at the factory. IH did not even make their own wheels, They were made by F&H. If you carfully cut all the spokes at the rim I don't know why you could not weld in new rims but it would be long and slow. Another thing you might try is to find a flat center 16 inch wheel and save the deep center with the spokes. Then just weld that in.
