What does it take to dry out an engine? I took my M out and ran it most of the afternoon. I put about 10 road miles on it wide open. I took the oil filler cap off and the top had a lot of condensation on it. Is there something not venting correctly? Is this normal?

make sure the themostat is tight in the housing, i had c123 not running hot enough, found out stat moved few thousands vertical. i then shimed it tight all the way around and it went to running range next time started and ever since.

Replace the thermostat & make sure that the engine temp is running around 180 or so to help evaporate the condensation produced by combustion.
If your compression rings are worn that will cause excessive blow-by and increased moisture problems.
49 cubber is correct to be sure the valve cover vent pipe is clear but don't forget the crankcase vent pipe on the right side near the back corner of the oil pan; it needs to be clean, also.

I bet I do not have the engine running hot enough. I recently rebuilt the engine so everything should still be correct. No corners were cut with the overhaul. I put a mechanical temperature guage on the tractor and am running at 135 degrees. On the road, it drops about 5 degrees.

I wonder if you dont have a blown headgasket or maybe the vent tube is clogged up under the valve cover.

I think it is normal. The motor does not get hot enough to evaporate the moisture. I run my M all winter with a dogfood sack over the radiator.
