LOOKING TO PURCHASE SUPER MTA BUT THE SERIAL# READS 72291S NOT SM OR SM-TA HELP. BATTERY BOX IS UNDER SEAT TA HANDLE IS THERE HAS PS 12 VOLT AND WIDE FRT END IS THIS A TRUE SMTA THANKS PAUL

You sure there is no prefix? The SM-TA should be on the line above the serial, and is not stamped like the serial -- it may have simply worn off. A good hot water pressure washer will remove everything but the actual stamped serial number.

the tractor that you are interested in is a super mta. super mta serial numbers started at 60001 and went to around 84000. so this one is about in the middle of production. harvester only stamped the serial numbers on the tags the model designations were painted on and apparently this one has washed off of the tag. i have two super mta's and the one has just the serial number left.

yes, it is a smta. they made a handfull of smta without the ta but no super m with ta.
