I am looking at an H with loose steering and missing belt pulley. I have restored JD tractors but not Farmalls. Are these items hard to fix or find?

Thanks for help.

A lot of the play in the steering can be taken up with by tightening the castle nut inside the steering box and the big jam nut at the front of the box. Other than that it's just bearings and bushings.

My H had sloppy steering, turned out all that was wrong was the bearing at the end of the steering shaft, replaced the bearing and it is perfect...Jim

I suppose it depends on how badly the steering is worn, could be a simple fix, or you may need to completely rebuild the whole assembly. The new parts you will need are readily available so it basically depends on your skill level. If you can work on the John Deeres, the Farmalls will be just as easy. As for the belt pulley, if you need just the pulley, I see those on E-bay all the time, if you need the complete unit, check with any salvage yard, those should be about a dime a dozen.
