Farmall Regular/10-20

I have found a 1927 Regular and a junk 10-20. Both are really in rough shape but restorable. The Reg. has steel on rear and rubber on front. The 10-20 is full steel. My questions are: which is the more valuable tractor? Will the front steel wheels on the 10-20 fit on the regular? Where can I find some good detailed photos so I can determine any missing parts?

Thanks for your help,
Mike

I guess the main question I want answered is will the front steel wheels from a 10-20 fit right on the Regular? The man said he would swap them if they will fit.

The front steel from a 10-20 will not fit on a Regular. Bearings are different as well as the diameter of the wheel itself; the 10-20 being the larger on both accounts. As for value, it seems like the Regular generally brings more money at sales, although it's really hard to find a nice 10-20, but not so hard to find a nice Regular. Just my opinion!

Mike, thanks for the response. I think the 10-20 would be a better choice since I want a steel wheel tractor but here are the pros and cons: The Regular is stuck and the head is off cylinders look good but you know how that might go. The mag and carb are missing but owner says he has them somewhere, no starter tank, half an air stack, very good manifold though. The 10-20 is missing side skirts but engine is complete and not stuck, the owner says he ran it and drove it around his place several years ago. He says that for some reason the fenders won't bolt up properly. He thinks someone has changed something to do with the rear hubs, I don't know enough about these tractors to know what he's talking about. The rear housings look just like his restored 10-20 to me with holes to bolt the fenders to. How can I be sure something hasn't been modified. He says he thinks the rear housings would have to be changed to bolt the fenders up. The radiator core needs replacing, front steel needs work.

Thanks for your help,
Mike

Nice 10-20s are starting to go up in price now. You don't see that many nice 10-20s, as Mike said. I was at an auction last year that had several nice 10-20s and F-12s, the 10-20s rent for more than the -12s or sure. 15-30s are even rarer- I picked up a 15-30 cheap at an auction a few weeks ago that's rough shape, full steel, but the only nice one I know of around here is 4 grand!
