Is there a right or wrong way to install the brake disc? The new ones I bought have deeper grooves on one side. Which side goes next to the assembly with the ball bearings and springs?

JIm I just put new disc in my 350 and I asked at Case/IH . The mech said some disc's come with a deeper groove and it shud be installed with the deep groove facing the fixed side as that is where the slipping and wear will occur.Just his opinion. personally I cant see where it would make a nickels worth of difference . They are relatively cheap (11.00 bucs apeice from Yesterdays tractor) and very easy to change out.Paid d@m near as much for the springs at the dealer.HI OH yes if the ramps are worn you can stick them in the lathe and take off a few thou rather than buy new ramps.
