There is a cover under the transmission area of my 544 farmall gas. The cover is in a T shape. My question is, do I have to drain all the hydraulic oil before I remove this cover and replace the gasket?

I have a 544 utility. To change the filter about 2 gals of fuild come out at the discharge level. I would think you would just about drain the whole tranny resevoir. You could catch the fluid and put it back in when you have replaced the gasket?
