I purchased a pretty beat up 706 for not alot of money. I knew it had a leak in the hydraulic control valves under the seat, but didn't know how bad it was until I added 8 gallons of new hy tran. It now runs out from under the seat like it is being poured from a jug. Is there a rebuild kit available and how hard is it to work on this problem? It looks like it will be easy to get at once the seat is off but looks have been deceiving in the past. The good news is the PTO works now, I just hope the PTO pump wasn't damaged while it was apparantly let to run dry.

Do like the other guys said and clean everything up really well and pinpoint where the leak is coming from. It is more than likely the valves for the remotes under the seat-if you get or have a IT shop manual for the tractor it is pretty easy to replace the o-rings in those valves. I did my 1206 for $40. I replaced all the o-rings and picked them up from my case-ih dealer.

Remove the seat and start to see where it is leaking at - probally just oring. It is not hard to replace the orings and backup rings and orings between sections - I would recommend getting all the orings and completely reseal valve while it is out as all are probally getting hard.

There are alot of o rings under the seat take the seat and tin off and run the tractor to see where it is coming from.

Is it leaking from the open center valve on the right side (under the seat). There are some O rings that can be replaced there. Look for a flattened oval piece, remove the 1 1/2" snap ring and pull out, and check the 0 rings there.
