Looking at possible buying a 1947 farmall cub. It has been sitting for about four years under shed. Engine will turn over with hand crank but does not seem to be any compression. Could this be the rings bad or are the valves stuck. Engine has a lot of old oil all over it. Anyone have an idea what a good offer would be. Sheet metal is in good shape and all four tires are still holding air.

Thanks,

No compression? These little engines are pretty easy to turn by hand even with good compression. However, you could have an exhaust valve stuck open.

I am looking at one probably a 1950-51 yr. good sheetmetal, fair paint, tires showing age, hydraulic lift, needs radiator, owner said that it runs good, looks like all the cultivator is there, he wants $550.
