Does anybody know ANYTHING about these? There are a few pictures of them in C.H. Wendel's 150 Years International Harvester, but my research yields nothing. I found one, may pick it up tomorrow, but I don't know much about them. Would anybody happen to know where another is, even if it has been in a weedpatch for a million years, I am very interested. Or anyone know of a pick-up head (for hay, etc) for one? I've seen pictures, and that's it. I have one now, and would just like to hear some information on it. Thank you.

Oh the 20-C harvester. My father rented a 20-C to fill our silo in 1974 when the local custom operator became ill. I was running the machine with a 574. A fresh set of knives was installed the second morning by the owner. Late in the afternoon, after working all day, I shut off the PTO and jumped off the tractor to unhitch the wagon. The over running clutch permits the flywheel to freewheel; taking about four minutes to stop. For as yet an undetermined reason, as I bent down to remove the wagon hitch pin, the knife cover opened, hitting me squarly in my face. Long story short, I lost an eye. That was the hand I was delt. I farmed for 26 years fulltime after that, But could not do close work like weld or hammer a nail or pour milk into coffee because I have no close depth perception. Main problem is that it is hard to drive down Main street with one eye on traffic and one on the females...

We had this machine on the farm when I was young. We milked 40 cows and had about 20 acres of corn. Pulled with a farmall M with MW pto clutch. Took several days to fill 2 small upright silos. was still sittng there when Ma sold the house. I do have some 8mm movie film of it in operation. Have heard that these old Flywheel type machines could be used as pretty good brush chippers. Bruce
