You can build a starter that runs through the PTO for about $200.00. They are not real hard to build and work very well. I have one on a F-14 and have the stuff to put one on my F-12. It will never break your arm using it. If you want info email me. mmilner12@chartertn.net

Sounds very reasonable, go for it, and if you don't want it, let me know.

Sounds like a buy price to me. Hand crankers can break arms along with other parts of the body too. Having the tractor timed correctly, the magnito functioning properly, and hand cranking in a safe manner can greatly reduce kick backs and injuries.

My crank flew off and hit me in the fore head!
So I found a 14" pully and made a bracket/sleave to slip it on where the crank goes. Now I rope pull start it. Works great! Even with full advance (12btc) it never kicks back. I think it spins it much faster than cranking. Have started my F-12 with this set up many times no problems. I would encourage others that might not want to risk kick back to try this. It cost me $25.00. And there was no modifications made to the tractor itself!
