I am looking at a 234 corn picker that was formerly on a 656/706. How much change is needed to convert mounts, etc. for it to fit a Super M? Would it be better to find a picker that already fits a Super M? I would really like a 234 or 2M-HD, but to find one for sale let alone with mounts for a Super M has been difficult. Thanks guys.

Not much will interchange from mountings between these 2 tractors, mounts were a nightmare, I used to set-up these new, take a look at a 234 Corn Harvester parts book and you will see what I mean.

Are you sure that you want the 234 on an M. It will run out of power in low doing 150 bu corn. These things are getting harder to find but still setting around for free but the big hang-up is mounting brackets and finding brackets for a 234 on an M is going to be hard to come by.

a 2me picker was designed to and will fit on a m,sm,mta,400,350,450 all used the same axel brackets. it will fit on a h,sh,300, with the help from an axel support bracket. a 2mh picker was of the very close design as the 2me except the axel brakets had a ball like a 2 5/16" on a trailer, and the elevator was white and if I am not mistaken some had a sheller attachment that would fit on the back instead of a elevator.

Tim, I believe the axles housings are flat like the 560(I think) on a 656, while the 706's aren't. If it came off a 656, it should fit a 560, which would fit a Super M. But if it came off a 706, it won't.

I can't really say about a 234 though, I know our NI came with the plates for an M-560, and the plates for a 706.

Where are you? I have a New Idea with husker and sheller that came off a Super M that I would sell cheap! It's all under roof.

I'm near LaCrosse, WI. I'm a huge Farmall nut, but a New Idea may work until I find the pickers I want to collect. How cheap is cheap? Where are you located? If you're in Ohio, it may not be that much for me to come down. Let me know, I'm interested if you want to get rid of it.

I bought this stuff in 1996. The package came with both gathering units with snouts, a second set of gathering units and snouts for parts, a husking unit, sheller unit, an extra subframe and other assorted parts. I also have all the owner's manuals. I bought all this for 200 bucks. I shelled corn in '96, '97, and '99, about 12 acres each year. Spent some money on parts, including a new machined top for the shelling chamber which cost me 160 bucks. I'd sell it all for 400. Sheller was painted and worked fine.

If you come down here to Ohio, let me know--I know of another NI mounted picker in North Central ohio. $350 I think is what he wanted for it--came off a 350 I think. Shedded since new.
