Just wondering if someone might be able to tell me what mower model I have. I bought a complete working belly mount sickle mower for $75.00 the other day, works grate. It hooks to the bell housing, there is a rod and square bar that hooks to the front left cultivator frame mount, shaft with a pulley that runs to the back and mounts where the draw bar mounts, came with the pulley for the pto shaft and a belt. There is a chain the goes from the large casting where the pitman rod and blade joins that hooks to a bar that hooks to the right lift arm.

I don't guess I need to know the model # it works fine and I have plenty of parts off of other IH mowers to use if needed. Just wondering.

One other thing, everyother mower I have worked with has a brake away system for the bar if you hit something, this has a solid bar where that should be. Is this correct or has this been modifed. It came off a super A so who knows how old it may be.

Thanks for any input

David: I believe the mower model number will be C-22. No break away is right, be careful that mower would stop a Cub if it hit a solid obstical. I doubt if it will stop a SA or 140. I had the same with rigid tooth row cultivators. Cub never broke a thing, but 130 would snap those $65. clamps just for fun.

The only difference between Cub and SA, C-22 mowers was mounting hardware and drive pullies. It was first only available for a Cub, and a year later for SA, so you know that the only engineering ever put into the SA version was customer demand. On the plus side it is mounted where you have good view of cutter bar from seat.

Thanks, All I will be doing is cutting the sides of the road off and around the pond. I just got out of the hay and cattle business and wanted something simple and cheap to work on to keep the place clean. No point in keeping a 8' disk mower to cut around the pond and it gives the old 140 something else to do.
