I want to convert my 560 diesel to gas. Can the diesel head be taken off of the 282 and a gas head from a 263 or 301 be put on without much modification? Or do you have to change the whole engine to a gas block to get a gasser?

Anyone wishing to change a tractor the size of a 560 from diesel to gas should never use the handle Airtime, There are a lot more appropriate handles, retaining the word Air.

It will take more than replacing the head. There are different pistons between a diesel and a gas. You need to remove the fuel pump and put on a distributor and carburator. Chances are the openings are not all the same for these things. It would be best to either replace the entire motor or just trade for a different tractor. By the time you swap out all of the wiring it could become quite a project. Typically a diesel is cheaper to operate. With a block/tank heater on it you should not have any problems starting it even in extreme cold. Just my $0.02 worth.
