Ok Harold, I picked up a '59 Farmall 240 this spring, and can't find much information on this
tractor, I believe they were only made for 3 years. Any way it has a 123CI gas 4cyl engine,
can you tell me what the HP tested at?

Thanks.

Ken T.

Good place to check hp ratings is Nebraska tractor tests. Hp is about 28. Place to find manuals is binder books.

Thanks Lyle, I had bought an after market owners manual for
it but it didn't list the HP ratings.

You know, this seems like a lot of horsepower for such a small engine. This might be one of the more powerful machines that we have. I have driven a 240 a lot and thought it was a good machine. I never had any specs on it at the time.

I like it too, but it may not be the tractor I
need where I live. I live in North GA and there
are a lot of hills, the 240 I have is a narrow
front end, they made a Wide front for it, but I haven't been able to find one for it yet. You would happen to know where I could get a wide front end for it would you?

Thanks,
Ken from Dawsonville.
