I was at Barnes & Noble the other day and saw this book... A treasure hunter's map for the tractor restorer...disguised in book form. I was surprised to see all the old iron hiding in Wisconsion and South Dakota.. Lots of diamonds in the rough. I thought most of this stuff has been swept up by the salvage yards. Looks like I will be taking more of the back roads when traveling..

Absolutely, the back roads are a lot of fun and can turn up some interesting treasures. I live on kind of back road and a couple Sundays ago I got the old B out and put probably 15 miles on it just driving down our roads. When I would see someone outside killing time I would stop to talk and would find out all kinds of stuff about their old tractors. It's amazing how many people have an old tractor tucked away that you never see. Plus I saw some outside I had never seen before. When a person has time it does pay to slow down and observe.
