I think it all depends on what you want and what you plan on doing with it. My uncle has a super 90 diesel with a NFE that he added a turbo to it for pulling. He pulls it in hot stock 4500, 5500, and sometimes even 7500 and it can't be touched by other than his Ford 6000 that was built by Forresters in Eastern PA. Just be careful with the transmission, cause we had to fabricate our own parts. They can be hard to come by. If you need the PTO parts we might be able to help(extra rear end).

Well, you need to ask yourself if you are a Farmall man or a Massey man. The 450 is my favorite tractor. The white-red paint scheme was so sharp and you might miss that when it's gone.

The MF Super 90 is a great tractor. So is the 450. I collect IH and a friend of mine collects MF. One thing to check on the S90 is make sure the PTO works under load if you can. Almost all of the MF's my friend owns have had PTO problems, as compared to the IH's I've owned the PTO rarely fails. Changing a PTO clutch on a super 90 is a little more expensive and less fun than one on a 450. Is the Super 90 a high crop model or the low one?

They are both good tractors but a word of caution on the Super 90. My secretary and her husband (working farmer) have a Super 90 that lost power steering due to the common occurrence of that hydraulic pump (it has 2 pumps) for the power steering and pto going out. Without that pump the pto doesn't work at all as it is hydro pressure that engages the pto. They searched high and low for a replacement pump, ended up paying over $500 from a scrap yard 3 states away (dealer could get new one for $750). It was an easy fix, but now their pto won't shut off! They love the tractor otherwise, theirs is diesel and very very easy on fuel. As 560Dave said, check the PTObefore you swap.

R Marg: Try hitting him for $2,000. Massey made great, small tractors. What more can I say?
