Quick question for you Farmall Guru's.. A friend of mine has a 2 row picker mounted to a Super MTA. Both are in good mechanical condition but needs paint. Sheet metal on the tractor is pretty good, Picker has a few dings and dents.

He is getting out of farming and offered my Dad this piece of equipment at what I thought was a cheap price. We have always been hard core John Deere, But this is a tempting buy. Thanks in advance!

SW6TA is right. The rest of you must have been asleep since 1954. If you can get it for 2000 go for it and feel good about yourself.

And Your question is?..... Super M-TA according to Successful Farming Mag. 2 yrs ago is the fastest appreciating value tractor PERIOD. Reguardless of color. The picker is barely worth the effort to take it off depending on what model it is, but if the SM-TA runs, the T/A is good, and tires are O-K, tin is straight and has some paint on it, it should be worth at least $2000. Make sure You get ALL the parts to the tractor like the drawbars, & brackets, fenders, grill if it has a Super Snoot on it with the picker. I was about 11-12 yrs old when Dad turned Me loose plowing with His SM-TA & 3-14 plow.

Haha, Sorry...Yes I was wanting to know what that might be worth. The tractor runs good. Starts right up and doesn't smoke. Only stipulation to the sale is he wants to use it to get his corn off this year.

Tractor price estimate $2000.00 Dr Evil about right. Other variable is picker,$25.00(scrap) to 400.00 depending mostly on livestock feeding in the area- ear corn for feed has to be picked by something, whats the alternative to already possessed picker? Central Wisconsin prices vary quite a bit. RN.

Yep, anything from a 2M picker to a 2M-E, 2M-H, 2M-HD, and a 234 could be put on a SM-TA, even New Idea, some Ford, Deere and other brands also fit. W6-TA doesn't like Our guess at $$$$, but a sound working tractor sight unseen is different than a SMD-TA WFE with all new paint, tires, options and receipts for complete rebuilds for the engine, T/A, transmission & rearend, LPTO, etc. You see in the classifieds in RPM for $7500+. I bet most of them don't sell for that anyhow.

When we first started talking to him about it, I thought that $2000 was going to be a good deal instead of average price...Guess it wouldn't be a bad one to go ahead and buy and just paint up for the local fair. Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback.
