Haven't been around this board for quite a while. Here's a picture of what I just bought today. It's a '41 A. Serial # 69153. I believe I got a real good deal on it. Time will tell.

Les,

As they say -- where's there's life, there's hope.

Here's hoping that you can put new life into that old Farmall. Surely does look like a fun project.

First thing I'd do is replace that goofy seat. But that's my life, maybe not yours.

Whether or not you got a good deal is probably best measured by how much fun you have working on it, and solving all its problems. Kinda like that Mastercard ad: Old Farmall A: 700 bucks. Tools, parts and expenses to bring it back to life: 1,200 bucks. First time you start your restored tractor and drive it around: Priceless!

Here's hopin' you get to the priceless stage fairly soon.

Les real nice tractor, when bringing it home remember those little A's are heavier than they appear (if trailering ) and check the oil level in the "drop boxes" good luck with her Geoff

Nope. They were not with the tractor when this guy bought it. It has been converted to 12 volt and a bunch of other little "modifications" have been done to it. Good thing I ain't a "purist".

Dave, that RR looks to be a Huskee. LR is a Goodyear super torque. Mguy.

Good Luck,Les! I came across a pretty good find today also. My wife and I went out to a farm I saw selling pumpkins and noticed a Farmall sitting by his barn. I asked the older gentleman if I could inspect closer and he gave his ok. It was a Stage I super M. Interesting part was the dual wheels on the rear. Appeared complete right down to lights and lens. I inquired some and he said it had been sitting in that spot for 5 years. Exhaust was covered. He wasn't interested in selling but I'll be watching. I'm not looking real hard right now but you never know! Maybe I'll let a year or 2 go by and see what happens. Mike

I hope you get a chance at it. Some day you might be driving by and see it ain't there no more and you'll be out of luck.
I have an M as well. Beeeeyootiful tractor. Plus I have a Case VAC and SC. I din't think I was going to buy another tractor this year but this one was a deal I couldn't pass up.

I should have looked but didn't. Actually, I didn't even notice that they were not matched until I got home and looked at the pictures I took. I think the left one was a Goodyear but maybe that was on the BN that he also had for sale there (which was not in nearly as good condition, BTW). When I get it home, remind me again and I'll let you know what it has on it for tires. The main thing I was concerned about was that they were all in very good condition. NO weather cracks at all and beaucoup tread left.
