I am restoring a Super H and found out that the block is trash. I know that the Super H has a 164 c.i. block. Can someone tell me what c.i. block went into an H, and the difference in horse power? Also how much I could expect to pay for a Super H block. I plan on using this tractor, but would also like to keep it a "Super H" I do have extra parts from an "H". That is why I am asking.

i have a 1946 that my grandfather bought new and it was rebuilt with super h pistons and sleeves..... ...so yes, you can get a straight h block and rebuild it with the super h kit and not sacrifice any horsepower

A straight H engine has 152 cubic inches. You can put an overbore kit in this engine and it would roughly equal the super engine. Would not be the same, but in a pinch would be acceptable.

The H had a 153 CID with 25 HP. An H block should be able to be bored to take super H sleeves. Go to steelwheelranch.com, get this guy's phone number and call him about blocks. He may have a super H block on hand.
