Be careful with those open pipe holes. Be as careful as you can to keep dirt out of the pump. I stack auto tires up to almost the bottom of the pump housing and then lay in three thicknesses of old clean carpet.

I yank the 4 bolts out and run.

I usually walk back through a river of oil. Gotta have some fun. Tractors are not all serious!

i used the all-thread into the mounting bolt holes method of getting mine down. it takes a while, but so does wiping your butt with two broken hands. You can do it this way by yourself with no problem.
i pulled the pump out of the reservoir when i got it down far enough
putting the pipes and control lever back in were somewhat of a challenge but not impossible.
good luck.

I used my floor jack and a 12 x12 block on top of it. My wife ran the floor jack but the thing weighs about 100 lbs and trys to tip over but the last one I installed I did 4 weeks after back surgury so I am sure you will be alright. Just tie a rope on it just in case it happens to get away from you .Wish I was there to help.

The pump will weigh about 100#, the lever is removed by simply removing the bolt, it is spring loaded, but won't give you any trouble. The hoses can be removed by just unscrewing them, as well as the 90 degree fittings, just put a pipe wrench on them, and unscrew.

I looked at the handles that the manual recommends, problem was I couldn't figure out how to use them with fewer than three people. One on each handle and one to take the bolts out. So I came up with a one man, no back pain method. I think Kelly C used a similar setup.

It won't feel like it weighs anything until that last bolt comes out, then you'll think it weighs more than you expect. Keep your head out from under it!

why doesn't anyone buy an i t manual for their tractor? it shows how to make the handles to lower the pump from the clutch housing without hurting yourself.
