I just purchased an International 424 at an auction and I would like to know more about it. It has an International loader and the tractor and loader operate well. The clutch is pretty noisy when I let it out, but while pushed in it is quiet. Is the 424 a good tractor? What is the average value for a tractor like this one in decent shape? Thanks

The 424 is a very good tractor. Power steering if yours has it will enhance the value. Also the diesel will bring a little more than the gas version. I used to own a gasoline 424 that did not have PS. The PS was the main reason I sold it. The loader is also a valued adder.

I agree the 424 is a very good tractor. I have a gas 1967 model with power steering. It has live hydraulics and a 2 stage clutch with a constant running pto. That may give you some insight into the problem. I am not sure what the banging noise is, but I'm sure that someone on this forum will be able to help. I have been monitoring this forum for several months and have learned quite a bit just reading the posts. I would think that a 424 in good shape with a loader should bring around $4,000 to $5,000 depending on the location.
