I have a Farmall C ,.... it has a magneto distributor,..... the shaft that the rotor button sit's on has been taken out , this shaft that the rotor sit's on has a gear on it that is driven by, another gear , when I put the shaft back in the dist. I think I may have moved the gears, if I did do I have to time the two gears? Thanks for any help..... ..... Scotty

Scotty. If you clean the gears good you should see on one gear two teeth that have been ground down just a little. On the other there will be one tooth that has been ground, that tooth goes between the two on the 1st gear. LOL Morgan

On the end of the rotor shaft are the letters R and L. These letters are hid with the rotor installed. Since you have a right hand magneto, use the letter R and and draw a straight line down to the gear teeth. Using the 2 teeth that lines up put them in mesh with the small gear with the bevel. Good luck.
