Does anyone have experience with reproduction fenders for a SMTA ( same as M etc ). If you feel they are as good as the originals where would be a good place to buy them? I see them on Ebay with a Buy It Now price of $165 with $20 for shipping and I believe I have even seen them as low as $140 for a set. Thanks

I almost bought a pair off orginals but I didn't feel like the repair work was worth it. I bought a pair from OEM Tractor and have been really pleaseed with them. They weight the same and look like the originals.

They are o.k. but slightly different and I prefer originals. You can buy perfect originals for $2-300 but they are hard to find. I saw a perfect pair sell for $450 on auction this spring - I guesss that guy was through looking for a good deal.

The other issue is that most originals need some amount of body work and the repro's presumably are ready to paint. A little difference from original is not an issue for me. My SMTA has a two point hitch and alternater. My family always modified their tractors to best get the work done.I can make a case that modified tractors are more " the real thing " than the totally stock ones. Our farmers were imaginative and resourceful or they uaually didn't survive.

I bought a set of fenders for an "H" from Steel Wheel Ranch, and was pleased with them. As I recall they were more expensive than the numbers you mentioned, but they are of good quality. They are also helpful. Link

I do not know about them, have thought about looking at a pair the next time I get over to my local tractor parts place, may take one of the original pair that I am going to sell over and compare the REAL thing, to the copy, side by side.
