A friend is looking at an International 300 without a pto. Can a pto be added to these tractors and would the parts be available?
Any help appreciated.

You can tell if it has live PTO or not by serial # or by pulling cover off back of diff. housing and look and see if shaft is in there to drive a PTO, start engine and see if shaft turns, with clutch depressed or without.
I Have rear frame of 300U with live power take off. If intrested E-mail me.
A pto from H will not work in a 300U.

If it dont have a TA you can probably get the complete shaft assy at a salvage yard drain and remove the plate, install new gasket and slip it in. For transmission driven PTO, onr from a H will fit right in.

Correction on my part, It was late and I didn't read it well enough. H PTO will not fit a 300U but will fit in a farmall 300.

It could be added but if it never had one you might have to split the tractor to add the PTO drive at engine and back of TA. You might get it all at a salvage yard.
