I inherited an IH806. The tractor is diesel in good shape, runs very good. I just fininshed cutting and raking hay with it, did a great job. When I first got it, I noticed that the three-point raised and lowered very slow. I attached the baler to the tractor, and it will not raise the tailgate on the baler (hesston 5585). This is with the rear remotes, should I try the front hydraulics, or is the hydraulic pump weak. If it is the hydraulic pump should I get it fixed or is it better to get out from under this tractor.
Thanks

Well first i would change filtes and oil it then check pressure it should be around 1750 + OR MINUS 100 , IF NOT IN THAT RANGE THEN FIRST I WOULD CHECK THE PRESSURE REG VALVE . I know you don't have a flow rater but if you could have it checked at the dealer it is well worthe the charge as this will nail down the problem and if it is the pump and it could be the you know for sure and that pump is down on the left side of the tractor inft. of the rear axel housung on the bottom and it is not hard to replace . If you have to replace the install a new or good rebuild . You may also want to upgrade you pressure reg valve to the 2150 or 2350 this will aid in raiesing thing.

The relief valve is in the right hand seat suport from the out side of the suport you should see a hex nut with the pressure setting stamped on it. You just screw it out and screw new in the 06's should be 1600 PSI 56's 1800 PSI If it were mine I would not put in over 2000 PSI.
