I have a '41 H and I am having trouble removing the PTO. I took the 5 bolts loose and it won't pull out. Is it fastened some where else to?
Thanks, Adam

Adam, no, it is not connected any other place. Once you remove the bolts holding it inside the rear housing, all you do is pull it out. Now, you may have the PTO "engaged" or it may be "disengaged". I had the same problem, and all I did was move the "engage" handle either IN or OUT and it slid right out. Try it, let me know if that worked!
Good luck buddy!

Bill,
I already tried this. There seems to be quite a bit of pressure on it when i pull.

I had the same problem a month ago when I took mine out. It would not just slide out. The last guy had but a generous amount of gasket sealant between the shims, and it held to the back of the chassis well. I had the transmission cover off, so I just tapped it out with a small piece of wood and a rubber mallot from the inside.

If you're working from the outside, get a screwdriver or sharp cold chisel in between the mating surfaces and work it back & forth. Just don't whack on it, you'll break the casting.
