The noise I heard on the tractor when i was younger was that unloaded it was farily quite, but as soon as you had a load there was a whine to the tran right where your feet where or under the seat i thought it might be the bearings starting to go out in the differential. I dont remeber if it whined in reverse. It may have. the tractor is still in my area and hasnt been used much in the last 10 years but does have alot of hours to it. Good news is that the sheet metal other than fenders is in pretty good condition. Also i noticed some one added a coolant filter to her so that also is a plus. Thanks to anyone who can offer any info!

Some of them did have a Whine to them and some did not If it had a T/A put in it and i am sure that it did at one time if the lower counter shaft was not set up wright or they did not shim the gears just wright then it will whine . My owen 806 will drive ya nuts in second and third in low or high , one of these days i'll fix it but like the old cobbler his kids go bearfoot my tractors are the last fixed. As for the water filter not a bad idea but not nesseary on that engine as the sleaves are a dry sleave but will not hurt anything.
