Does any know what brand and number of turbo that will work on my 656 with a 282 diesel. Was told need one to work at a lower rpm cause the motor only turns around 1800 rpm. Is there a place where the oil drains into the motor on a 656 diesel? I have a to4b90 in my shop, but a mechneic told me it would not do any good that it is used on 400ci and up motors that turn 2400 rpm

your mechanic must not have heard of ex housings, they come in diff. sizes!we have a TO-4 on a 560 been set at 110 hp for just about 15 years with no trouble.if you have time post again in nov. and i will look to see what housings are on the 560 if you would like.or you could call mid-west diesel injection and talk to Lee,he is most helpful.they are in FT. Use a T606 turbo or
use a T04B80 from a allis 7000
I have the T606 turbo on a 560 wheatland.

IH made a dealer-installed turbo kit for the 560 Diesel. That's what you need. It will take some searching, but you should be able to find one in a parts yard, or post a wanted ad here on YT's classifieds. Make sure you get all of the parts, the manifolds are different. Are you sure you want to turbo it? You can gain plenty of horsepower just by turning up the fuel. What kind of horsepower are you after? You can turn it up to 75 horsepower just like the 706 and still get long life out of the engine.

Hi,

I agree. Just turn up the old 'smoke' screw a little. Way, way eaiser and cheaper too.
