Yep they are the ones that built it , must have been the same engineers that built the old glow plug engines of the past .

Rumor has it on one of the diesel forums, that they stopped production of the 6.o due to reliability problems, dealers are not even supposed to sell the ones on their lots til further notice. just what I've heard.

Don't know about that, but an old co-worker of a friend who used to work for Navistar on the PSD did say that Navistar was going to switch to a BOSCH Common rail injection system about the time the 2005's hit the dealer's lots.

yes international has been the only supplyer of engines for the factory instulled engines in the ford pick up they started back in 1983 with the 6.9 and then in 1987 the 7.3 non turbo and in late 1994 with the power stroke 7.3 turbo engine and then the new 6.0 power stroke in mid 2003

Pete,
a gal at our church as one in her new excursion. She loves it. They've made I think 2 trips to North carolina(we live in St. Louis). Aside from software problems, which ford's fixed(she still needs to get it done, but it's available) they love it. We have a 1997 Powerstroke F250 & dad & her husband are always talking about them. Sounds like an old GM 6.2 with a turbo added though.

Bindernut,
Thanks for the information. Do you have an idea as to fuel mileage they may be getting? Or how it would compare to your Powerstroke?
Thanks, Pete
