I am wondering is he radiator cap on a 1940 H is a pressure cap or is it just to keep the coolant from leaking. I have the big red cap that was original to them. I was looking at pictures and all I see is regular caps. If they are pressure caps what is the pounds they are supposed to hold? One more ? Where would you get a crank for one of these?

Your system is non-pressurized. The H began using a pressure radiator cap at Serial # 115030 (late 1942).

If the radiator is the original, then it is a nonpressurized system, and will use the cap you mentioned. If the fasteners that hold the grille to the radiator are the DZUS type, then it is original.

Keep in mind also that if your tractor needed a new radiator after the pressurized systems became available, then that is what it may have now. The non-pressurized radiators were discontinued when the pressurized ones were introduced. I have seen several Hs with the later radiator, when they should have had the old type.
