HI GUYS, I FIND IN MY NEW AQUIRED 'A' A COUPLE OF BAD GEARS IN THE TRANS. IS THIS A JOB FOR THE PROS. OR CAN A GUY LIKE ME DO IT,I HAVE GOOD MECH.ABILITY, BUT NO TRACTOR OR TRANS EXP. HOW DO I START THE JOB THANKS

Jimmy: Like you, I'm a fair mechanic. I've never been into the transmission of the little tractors. I tackled a Farmall 300, 30 years ago, had just about every thing in there out and put it back together. (replacing gears) So have faith, you can do it, 30 years ago I didn't have the Farmall page at YT. By the way the 300 is still going, never had transmission apart since. It probably has 25,000 hours by now.
