Gentlemen, My ol 74-966 has what looks like a Power-assist cylinder mounted in the middle of the clutch rod. has hydrolic lines run to it also. Is this what I think it is? If so, this one is leaking a large amount of oil, only when I let out on the peddal, then stops till I depress and let out again!
Looked at a IT manuel today It doesn't show it at all.
I need and solicit all inputs on what it is and how to fix it.
Thank ya'll,
John A.

I have a breakdown. If you need it let me know and I can scan it and sent it to you e-mail or fax. The old IH service manual page 8-11 - 8-14.

I was tryen to find a breakdown of that this morning and i know i have one but can't for the life of me find it . The adjustments are differant then the standard linkage and you can find them in the IT manual IH- 202 back in the 1466-1486 on page 55 Fig. 139 . It is simaluar to the ones used on the 86 seires but not the same and does take a diffarnt seal/ o/ring kit . Not a big job as long as the pins come out . I always pull the clutch pedal and cyl. as one makes it easier.

I'm glad you brought that up. I'm adding one to my 1066, as soon as I can get it rebuilt and get the correct return line and fitting.

John: I'm a poor one to ask on that matter, those had not yet given trouble during my farming days. At least my 1066 hadn't and it did have hydraulic assist from when new.

There are some o/rings and seals in there that need to be replaced , it will not show up in the IT manual for the 66 seires ya got to look in the 86 seires to find the breakdown I have fixed about 6 of them and it ain't to bad to do just use a brake hone to clean the cyl. up a bit to give the new parts a good surface to get use to.
