Farmall 340D (Row crop)engine (D166)is toast. It appears from factory that the block was bored at an angle instead of straight in. 3 of four sleeves are cracked, block has 4 cracks, crank journals are egg shaped and the list goes on. Wondering what other engines would bolt up with minimal fuss and machining work. Parts for these somewhat rare buggers are getting hard to find.

Bob, it was probably drivin' in Chuck's driveway that cracked that block... ;o)

IH made a TD-340 crawler, suppose they have the same engine? Might be a little more common. You might have some luck with a couple of the salvage yards down in California. Seems I recall a couple crawler salvage places between Bakersfield and Fresno along Hiway 99, but I sure don't recall the names of the places. Not much help, am I.

You may have a point there BF! I talked to Chuck last night in fact. Appreciate the thought on the salvage yards, but like you said, without names or numbers, I'm still at a loss.
