I've got a 706G that I use to feed all winter long and it starts really easy when I do the following.

Set the gas just above an idle. Use full choke and crank just a short time and then push the choke in and keep cranking. It will start and you will need to give it more choke to keep it going.

This procedure works for me no matter what the outside temp is.

GOOD LUCK

If your tractor is well maintained it should be the best and easiest starting tractor on the place. Use a low throttle setting and plenty of choke. If it won't start down to -37f, (that is the coldest we ever got ours to start by itself) the tractor may need some attention. The 706 gas is a great tractor. Enjoy.
