My F-20 had sat for 5 years or so before i came across it. The carb was in good shape with no varnish however it had some rust and scale in it. Nothing major but I worry about it coming loose and clogging up the entire system. I know how fragile the system can get. Any help would be greatly apprectiated.

no eric, those old systems arn't too fragile. just swish it out a little and don't worry about it. It a little piece of rust causes a problem a lot of times it can be solved by tapping the side of the carb with your pliers while the tractor is running.

Hello:

I would get a fine steel brush and clean inside, and rinse with carb cleaner (spray type). The flakes can cause some problems, you sure don't want your tractor to act up in a parade next to one of those green tractors.
