I have a c113 eng. And there are two cracks. one between two of the water ports maybe 3/4 in.second starts a water port and head toward a sleeve. I not to worried about the first but the second being near the sleeve worries me a little.
I dont think i need to worry about a repair on the first, since the cooling system is not pressurzed.

what do you think. wanting to know cause I know i guy who want the engine but i dont want to sell it to him if its not useable.
Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't want to buy a cracked block, therefore, I wouldn't offer to sell one to anyone either..... ..unless of course they just wanted it to "try their hand" at repairing it...or needed a boat anchor or something..... .then I'd give it to them !

In MOST cases, when the block froze and cracked where you describe it also cracked the head. If it didn't crack the head and you put water in the block and see that it's not leaking past the O rings into the crankcase you can put the head back on without any worries. The head seals around the tops of the sleeves. When these tractors came out antifreeze was $7.50 per gallong and a days pay was $5.00. There were a lot of cracked blocks during that era.
