When I pour anti-freeze into my Farmall A, it seems to go straight through and come out at the viewing port which is directly behind the Oil Pan. There does not seem to be any anti-freeze in the oil. Could this be a blown head gasket, or is there more?

It will be the frost plug in the back of the block. It will be rusted out. A fiddly job splitting the tractor. Do both while you are at it.

Dave, sounds like you mean the access cover to the flywheel? If so, that's probably a cracked block, sorry!! You'll have to split the tractor to find out. If it's cracked they can be welded. First check around under the gas tank and around the outside of everything for signs of the leak. The head is above the clutch housing so if it's the head gasket it will be visible.

There is a soft plug, freeze plug, behind the flywheel it could be the problem. I would like to use a brass plug. If I ever change it again. Haven't had to change it much since using permanet antifreeze. Alcohol was used in the old days, it didn't work in thermo syphon systems. We luckly just pushed out the soft plug, some cracked their blocks.
