I got a 1950 M for my winter project, and noticed a cable coming out from around the fill tube on the belly pump, and going up by the kill switch. It appears to be stuck, but does have a little, and I do mean little knob on it. Any Ideas? It's a first for me and I have had several M tractors.

There were some after market controls to shut off the belly pump when not in use. It could be part of one of those.

A metal knob, more or less flat with printing on it? may be the original kill switch -- where is the current kill switch?

the old IH style kill switch in to the left of the cable, and I must add that the tractor has aftermarket live hydrolics, and the old belly pump looks to be used as a res. I don't know yet if the guts are still in the housing. Thanks folks!!!
