hello fellows, the question i have is about a manifold for a farmall H. fellow i work with bought a used manifold for his H. i thought it was odd because he had me machine him a pair of step studs for the manifold. 3/8 16 one end 5/16 24 other end. when he went to put the carb on he discovered the bolt pattern is wider on the used manifold as compared to his old one. were there different carbs with different spacing or is this not a manifold for an H? you guys have helped me many times when i have questions about my SA. thanks in advance, greg

the guys are correct and it could also be a 300 or 350 manifold--both require the bigger carb

I had the exact same problem with my H when i bought it and i discovered that the man that had last restored it had put an M manifold on the H. I pull my H so it was nice having the extra size to bolt up a larger carb. I found an updraft airplane carb for mine. You can still put the old one back on, or for some added intake put a super H or M carb on.

The Super H and H have different carburetors. The Super H carb is similar to the one for the M. I am not sure about the spacing, or if the manifolds interchange, but he could have a Super H manifold.
