just recently aquired a b farmall, serial # FAB 83183. my question is, this tractor has equal length rear axles, instead of offset axles, like most b's. any info would be appreciated.

I don't know what you mean by "this tractor has equal length rear axles, instead of offset axles, like most b's".
All Farmall B's have equal length "axles" on the rear. In the parts book, what is commonly called axles, are refered to as differential shafts and are in the differential shaft housings.
They are about 22 inches long on a B. Both sides are the same length. On a BN, they would be about 18 inches. Again, same length both sides.
Here is picture of a B.

No the axles are the same length being the engine assembly sits in the center of the tractor. There has been many posts covering the diference between the "B' and "BN"
