How bad a Cub could this be?

I have been offered the chance to buy a Cub for $500. I have not yet seen it. I'm told it runs if you put a battery in it (which I will) but that it needs paint. Also the carb leaks bad.

What would stop you from buying a Cub for $500? How bad would it have to be to stop you from taking this deal?

First of all what year cub is it? and my opinion is as follows, if it runs and stays running and drives, but looks bad--it might be worth $500. But there are always other cubs and other tractors out there.

The one I passed up for $450 had a broken radiator base, broken front ear on the engine, and a broken final drive. Tires were junk too. I think most of the sheet matal could have been repaired.

Someone else bought it sight unseen.

Jump on that sucker, and if you don't want it, let me know, you will loan me the money, right?
