We thought the clutch went out, and replaced it, but it still has same symtoms. You put it in gear, and let out the clutch, and it won't move. Then apply the left brake petal and it will start to move, the more you push the brake, the faster it will go.(Forward or reverse) BUT,,,,, the right brake won't move it, just when you push the left brake. What else is broke ?????

I am just looking for a thermostat that fits inside the neck and is held in by a little wire clip. Was told that they were no longer being made. If anyone has one in stock, would like to purchase one.

I had the same problem, you can buy a special spacer part #690798C1 at a cost of about 10.50. You will most likely need a new snap ring part # 105-22212 at a cost of about 3.35. The company I bought from was Pilot Knob Restorations
390 S. Pilot Knob Road
Galena, IL 61036
815-777-0826. The new snap ring is a little different from the original but works better than the original with this spacer. You can use a General motor 180 degree thermostat now, or the new OEM . You should also can get these parts from the dealer, however most don't know how to look them up!! Good luck Tommy

Been there, done that, several times. Not 100% certain at this distance, but highly probable that the left axle is broken right where it splines into the bull gear. I also had one that ate the splines out of the bull gear, but I think that was a result of the axle breaking earlier, and being replaced without careful inspection.

Something on the left side, inside the rear end is broken. You proved this by making it go by applying the left brake. The left side axel or gear system is spinning freely and not transmitting the power to the left wheel. The brake is ahead of that stuff, so by stopping it, you stop the spinning parts and transfer power to the right side. This is exactly how the M&W hand clutch worked that we had on the H when I was a kid. I never saw one for a super C, but have to ask, do you have an accessory hand clutch on the left side of this tractor?

Bill,,,, No it does not have a "hand clutch",,,, don't know if any did, friend,,,,, I especially want to "Thank you" for the good input. Guess we will get digging into that left side. Best Wishes to all.

Something in the rear end, differential assembly has let go. I've never seen inside a C or super C, so I can't tell you exactly what, but you need to remove the cover and take a peek inside.

I would venture a guess that the problem is going to be on the left side, maybe the side gear in the rear end or spider gear but more likely side gear splines.Could be left axle problems too.

make sure that the key in the left wheel is not sheared allowing the axle to turn in the hub.
