Bought a Super H w/live hyd.about two months ago. When I got it home the hyd. resevoir was empty so I added oil and the hyds. worked fine. I put a few hours on it filling silo to make sure there wasn't any thing wrong with it and parked it. Now its time to restore it. Before I drained the engine oil I checked it and the level was way up (about 1.5 quart). I'm 99% sure there is no antifreeze in it so is it hyd. oil? Is the seal in the front of the hyd. pump leaking? Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Same thing happened with my 300U. Speedy sleeve solved the problem.

Hello-
Yea I just had it happen on my SMTA; Actually I just got the bill today for the repair. It is the front seal of the hyd. pump that is probably leaking. Like was said, hopefully it just needs an o-ring. Oil level in mine was up about 2 quarts before I figured it out.

Mike

If you are lucky, all you need is an o-ring. If the o-ring has caused a deep groove in the shaft it will still leak. Then you will need to have the shaft repaired by a machine shop that knows the proper procedure, as you don't want to get it too hot. I tried using a speedy sleeve to cover the groove, but found that I could not reassemble the pump with the sleeve in place.
