I am hoping some one can tell me what I have.
the previous owner told he thinks it is a 1947 B.
this tractor has a hyd on the eng. The sn under the seat is missing cause the seat bracket was torched in half to ad 3pt. Eng s/n 44447 with FCM to the left and D to the right above the sn. Eng casting number 251069 R1. from sn research on this site I suspect i have an 1949 C eng. or a 1941 A/B eng but I am sure A/B did not have hyd. But one thing am sure of is that the rear of the tractor is B. thanks

If the engine has a water pump it is a late super A or C engine , they are the same. If not it could be an engine from one of the early super a series with hydrolics.

For your info and what it's worth, I bought a C model with the same engine casting numbers (251069R1). the sn indicates it is made in 1953.

Serial # does not indicate a 1953. A 53 was a 6 digit # on SC. That # is for a 1949 Farmall C.

Bo,

Right on, except you missed the point. I got a 1949 engine with a 1953 tractor. This is a mix and match deal ain't it?

See now what you mean. I have a 48 C with a Super C engine. 354898R1. Someone has changed it somewhere down the line. No water pump on it.

Sounds like original block was replaced with a later type. Maybe from a C. Super A or C block would fit and would have provisions for hydraulics in the casting.
